Tuition and fees at Oregon community colleges vary according to institution. With new tuition increases in 2003, the range for community college resident tuition is: $49 - $68 per credit hour; while out-of-state tuition is: $143 - $168 per credit hour. Some institutions have a maximum rate per term based on a 12- or 15-credit load. A few Oregon community colleges offer in-state tuition to residents of Washington, Idaho, Nevada, and California. Some community colleges also offer a discount to senior citizens.
Some community colleges charge a registration processing fee each term, and some courses have additional associated fees (e.g. lab fees). There may also be a separate distance education technology fee.
Oregon Public Universities
Most distance learning programs in Oregon public universities charge tuition on a per credit basis, generally ranging from $85 to $140 per credit for undergraduate courses and from $132 to $380 per credit for graduate courses. A separate technology fee or distance education may also be assessed. Professional degree programs generally have higher tuition rates, while non-credit courses or workshops frequently have lower fees than credit/degree-earning courses.
The Academic Year Fee Book for 2003-2004 gives a campus-by-campus breakdown of tuition and fees for universities in the Oregon University System.
