What happens when I need to talk to an academic counselor?

College/University Students

All participating institutions at ONE have advising centers to help you decide which courses to take to achieve the educational outcomes you desire. Advisors will evaluator your prior education and let you know which courses or exams you will need to earn the degree, certificate, or license you wish. Advisors at the community colleges will help you discover which courses will transfer to universities and count toward your degree. Further information on advising can be found at
Advising. Information about study skills and strategies for succeeding in distance learning courses is available at Study Strategies. These are often topics students consult academic advisors about.

K-12 Students

In order to earn your diploma, you have specific course requirements. If you wish to have one of the distance K-12 courses count toward your diploma, you will have to get prior permission from your counselor or principal. Your counselor or academic advisor will be able to give you advice on your K-12 and college/university educational goals.
