Advanced Search Tips for ONE Courses

Narrow your search by selecting a particular subject area, institution, level of study, delivery method, or academic term. If, for instance, you want the flexibility of a web-based course, you will find courses that meet your needs by selecting computer conferencing, CD-ROM, and Internet. In Windows-based computers, you can choose multiple categories by holding down the Control key while clicking the mouse.

  • If your search results in no or very few courses, you have probably limited your search too much or chosen non-existent categories (for instance, master's level courses offered by a community college). A good tactic is to narrow your search by choosing "select all" in every category but one that is important to you.

  • If you want to see only courses that will be offered in future terms, be sure to select those terms only instead of "select all."

  • You will find the maximum number of courses if you leave all search categories at the default of "select all."

  • Institutions are submitting updates of courses periodically throughout the year. Also, distance education opportunities are steadily increasing throughout Oregon. If you don't find what you are looking for now, visit the ONE site again in a few months.

IMPORTANT: OregonONE strives to keep information on our website and in the database up-to-date. Since courses and degrees are offered by institutions and not by ONE, however, the institution is the ultimate source of current and correct information. Use the ONE database for your initial search, but be sure to verify accuracy with the institution.
