Oregon public universities and community colleges operate on
quarter terms: Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer. Some of Oregon's independent colleges and universities also operate on quarter terms, while others use semesters. Semester credit hours x 1.5 = number of quarter credit hours; quarter credit hours x .67 = number of semester credit hours. K-12 schools typically operate on semesters, or may allow open enrollment in which students may start at any time.

Many Oregon colleges and universities have summer sessions of varying lengths, e.g., 5 weeks, two 4-week sessions, 8 weeks, 11 weeks, or 13 weeks (for those on semesters). Summer dates reflect the full range for that institution. Contact the college or university directly for specific dates of courses in which you are interested.
