K-12 students should see an advisor at their school for academic advice and college planning. Some general information is also available at K-12 information. All colleges and universities in Oregon have advising services to help you decide which courses to take to achieve the educational outcomes you desire. Advisors will evaluate your prior education and let you know which courses or exams you will need to earn the degree, certificate or license you wish. Advisors at the community colleges will also help you discover which courses will transfer to 4-year institutions and count toward your degree. Contact the institution you are seeking advising from through ONE Schools, Colleges, and Universities. Some of your general advising questions may be answered by visiting Frequently Asked Student Questions, covering topics such as the benefit of participating in distance education courses/programs, costs, time requirements, services, transferring, quality concerns, access to libraries and bookstores, etc. Also, visit Study Strategies for information about study skills and strategies for succeeding in distance learning courses. |
